FALMOUTH RUM TASTING EVENINGA wonderful evening was enjoyed with friends old and new at the Falmouth
Hotel in Cornwall. An evening of splendid rum and gastronomic delights
on the 12th April 2003. We presented the widow of Tony King (Culdrose)
who died tragically in Iraq with a cheque raised from the proceeds of
the evening.
Hope you enjoy the photographs and if you'd like to come to our next
RUMS 1. Havana Club 7 year old - medium bodied 2. Appletons V/X 5 to 10 year old and fuller bodied - quite sharp and "nosey" as all Jamaican rums are. 3. Rhum Bally 1987 medium bodied but different taste, it is distilled from sugar can juice and not molasses 4. Doorly's XO 10 year old Barbados rum, smooth, sweet and delicious...deceptively strong though! 5. Matusalem Gran Reserva 15 year old from USA, smooth as silk and really good medium body rum with a lighter feel 6. Ron Zacapa Centenario 23 year old Guatemalan rum, smooth and refined... voted the best rum in the world for the last 5 years consecutively by Caribbean Week magazine when they conduct their annual rum tastings and these are seen as the benchmark of all rums.
